Your Funeral Services

Please remember me as I was when you last saw my face, felt my touch and heard me speak

I offer myself as an experienced funeral celebrant to people who wish to celebrate and acknowledge a deceased’s significant life events. Everyone who lives on the earth, for a short while or a life time, leaves something to be celebrated. A funeral service is a healing time to gather, celebrate and recall how your lives have touched and been enriched forever by your loved one.

As a funeral celebrant I work to meet family’s needs during the most difficult time of their lives. I am trained to help individuals create and present a funeral, memorial, or celebration of life that honours the beliefs and wishes of the person that has passed away. I am a person with much empathy and am honoured to conduct a funeral service because I have lived through the experience myself many times. In 2003 I found my calling as a celebrant when we truly celebrated and paid tribute to the life of my stepdad Kevin. His passing was very traumatic and tragic for us all and his funeral service captured and honoured him, his beliefs, and his life. It brought the comfort and closure that our family needed.

The Service

The death of a loved one can be a very traumatic experience, and having conducted many funeral services, including burials and cremations, for both the elderly and very young you can rely on me. As a professional celebrant I am committed to designing a ceremony that brings together all your hopes and wishes. I have an extensive resource folder with unique introductions as well as poems and readings. I will work with you to create a ceremony that captures and honours your loved one.

Religious – Non-Religious

Many people do not belong to a church or religious domination. Families wish to honour the requests of the deceased are choosing to have a celebration of the life lived rather than a sermon or church service. I am a funeral celebrant who will honour the wishes of the family and deceased and am able to incorporate elements such as religious poems, readings and bible verses into your loved one’s service, as well as officiating non-religious services. You and your family can have a service just the way you would like and be involved as much or as little as you like.

Location
The celebration of a loved one’s life can be very healing. A gathering of family and friends provides comfort and support for one another. A service does not have to be a formal event. I have provided services in family homes, in the back yard of friends, in beautiful parks, in funeral chapels and in the deceased’s beloved clubs. Everyone deserves to have a special service that honours their life when they die. I will help you create a service that will honour your loved one’s life in a special way and bring peace and comfort for family and friends.

Personalised Eulogy
The ceremony respectfully honours the deceased by personalising what is said. At times the family may write the eulogy or timeline of the their loved one. This can be quite stressful, with many other arrangements needing urgent attention. I have extensive experience in writing and capturing a person’s life history. I offer this extra service (at an additional cost) to spend additional time with those who wish to share with me their loved one’s history. I gather and write a personal story of their loved one. If you chose to use this service I will need three days’ notice before the service is to take place. Final proofing will be done by a major family member. It will be a celebration and beautiful tribute to one that has touched your life.
