Wedding Ceremony for Brooke and Pete from Melbourne. April 2012 @ St Marys Chapel by the Sea. Port Douglas. A relaxing, scenic picturesque drive North of Cairns. FNQ.

St Marys Chapel by t he Sea. Port Douglas. Brooke and Peter.

St.Mary’s Chapel by the Sea in Port Douglas was were this Cairns Marriage Celebrant celebrated the union of Princess Brooke and Pete.

The lovely Princess Brooke (her husband’s special name for her and very fitting) she is an attractive, graceful, caring and kind woman. Pete, her husband is a very genuine, considerate gentleman.  They “tied the knot” at St Mary’s Chapel by the Sea in Port Douglas in April this year. The weather was not perfect, but I have to say the rain did stay away long enough for their wedding ceremony to take place inside the age old heritage-listed St Mary’s Chapel. 60 of their loved ones were in attendance from all over Australia. Once declared “husband and wife” (my honour) they managed to have those all-important photos taken by the gentle spirited Rob from Visibility Photography and Video.

I was honoured when contacted and asked be their wedding celebrant in Port Douglas.

This is their story……………

Pete met Brooke when his mate Jarrod set them both up on a double blind date in 2010 and they clicked straight away.

The proposal happened whilst on a romantic holiday in Thailand. Pete knew he would find the perfect opportunity to propose to his love, and he did…. well he thought he did! It happened at a magnificent exotic location called “Paradise Beach”. He asked Brooke to go for a romantic stroll with him, and she said ‘No’, not knowing what Pete was about to do. That did not deter him, so that evening – take two was about to take place, come hail or shine as far as Pete was concerned.

It was a perfect setting, whilst sitting in a restaurant that overlooked the beach as the sun set. With no one in sight Pete proposed to his love, who immediately said ‘Yes’! But what made this proposal even more meaningful and special for Brooke, was that before they left for their holiday, Pete had secretly met with Brooke’s father Andrew. Pete asked her father for his blessings to marry Brooke, and the answer was ‘Yes’….(who would not want a traffic policeman as your son in-law?).  Some age old customs never leave us, and Pete wanted to make sure his proposal to his love was one she would truly cherish and remember for many years to come.

My hearfelt and sincere congratulations to Brooke and Pete, It was so lovely being their wedding celebrant especially since I have been a friend of her mother for many years.

Brooke and Pete, I wish you both a lifetime of health, happiness and joy as you begin the exciting journey of marriage.
